Celebrations were held in St. Paul’s school on the occasion of Pi Day. The function was divided into two parts. First part was held on 21st July, wherein a workshop was held for the students as well as the parents of classes 4 and 5. The topic was – the importance of Mathematical Thinking for Young Children. The workshop was conducted by the team of CueMath from the Hindu Group.
Second part of Pi day was held on 23rd July, wherein many inter house competitions were held. This event was heralded by Fahad Nazmi of class 11, who gave an impressive explanation on the topic Pi
The first competition was for classes 3 – 5: Tangram Competition, where groups of 3 children had to create a scenery using tangram cut outs. The students had to make the aforementioned scenery with one person, one thing and one animal
The second competition was for classes 6 – 8: Mathematical model making competition, where groups of students had to make a model on the topic of Symmetry. It was judged by our Principal Mr. P. J Cherian and Ms Rita Kumari
The third competition was for classes 9 – 12: PowerPoint Presentation, where each group of 4 students had to make and explain a powerpoint presentation on Trigonometry or Complex Number.
