St. Paul’s School celebrated its 51st Annual day, on Saturday, 7th December, 2019, amidst great gusto, and exhilaration. The occasion was graced by the Bishop H. G. Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, the Chief Guest Dr. Dnyaneshwar Manohar Mulay, IFS (Retd). Member, National Human Rights Commission, Guest of Honour Dr. Arindam Bhattacharya, IFS, Director (Policy Planning), Ministry of External Affairs, Chairman Rev. Fr. Aju Abraham, Principal Ms Susan Jacob, dignitaries and former Principals, among others. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a soulful rendition of the school choir.
Honourable Chairman Rev. Fr. Aju Abraham extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries.The Principal Ms. Susan Jacob presented the Annual Report of the school and highlighted the school’s progress in academic and extra-curricular activities. The precious words of advice and appreciation by the Bishop were appreciated by all. In his Presidential address he advised that education means not only the acquisition of knowledge but also the inculcation of a sound philosophy for a holistic living. The Chief Guest Dr. Dnyaneshwar Manohar Mulay encouraged the students to explore nature, and develop the habit of reading and travel whenever possible. The Guest of Honour Dr. Arindam Bhattacharya, opined that staying humble and being grateful for our blessings should be an essential part of life. He urged the students to celebrate non-achievements and also to motivate and energize themselves. The academic and endowment awards were given away by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour to all the top scorers of the 2018-19 academic session and other prize winners, among whom were teachers too.
The Hindi song presented by the Hindi choir created an ambience of serenity. The highlight of the evening was the cine-drama ‘MOSES- The Chosen leader’. It featured part of the Exodus which portrayed the story of Moses who was chosen to lead the children of Israel from Egypt, and receive the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai.. The function that was a grand success, was concluded by the vote of thanks presented by the Vice Principal Ms. Sunitha Shaji.
